Moto X by Motorola -A Google Company

The only smartphone assembled in the U.S.A.



Moto X is a flagship Android smartphone developed and manufactured by Motorola Mobility. Released in August 2013, it was among the company's first new products after its acquisition by Google in 2012. Initially developed as the "X Phone", Moto X was primarily aimed at mainstream consumers, distinguished by features taking advantage of voice recognition and contextual awareness, the ability for users to custom-order the device in their own choice of color options, and emphasizing the fact that the phone was being assembled in the United States.
Moto X was met with mostly positive reviews, with particular praise towards its hardware design, Motorola's new approach to customizing Android, along with its suite of contextual features, and the influence of its "mainstream" targeting on its overall performance, user experience, and battery life. Its camera, while praised for having a simple user interface, was panned, however, for having inconsistent image quality, and a lack of certain advanced features for the sake of simplicity.

Install OS X Mavericks 10.9 on DELL Inspiron 5520

OS X Mavericks (version 10.9) is the tenth major release of OS X, Apple Inc.’s desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers. OS X Mavericks was announced on June 10, 2013, at WWDC 2013, and was released on October 22, 2013, as a free update through the Mac App Store.
The update places emphasis on battery life, Finder enhancements, other enhancements for power users, and continued iCloud integration, as well as bringing more of Apple’s iOS apps to the OS X platform. This release marks the beginning of a change in the naming scheme of OS X, departing from the use of big cats and moving to names based on places in California. Following the new naming scheme, the current version of the operating system is named Mavericks, after the surfing location in California.

Note that the wireless network card can not be used after the installation is complete, you can use the USB adapter connected to the wireless Internet, and the AMD Radeon HD 7670M Graphics doesn’t work.
OS X Mavericks Single System Installation
Before installation you need have an existing Mac or Hackintosh with Mac OS X to run some program. You could use a real Mac or existing Hackintosh, if you own one. You can also be installed on a virtual machine.
Divid the hard disk is into two or more partitions, a partition to restore the installation cdr image(10GB), another as a system installation partition(20GB+).
Please confirm before installation, hard disk partition table is MBR partition table, use Disk Utility to restore cdr file recovery to 10GB partition …

Windows 8.1 - Replaces Everything


Windows 8.1 is a version of Windows NT family of operating systems and an upgrade for Windows 8. First unveiled and released as a public beta in June 2013, it was released to manufacturing on August 27, 2013, and reached general availabilityon October 17, 2013, almost a year after the retail release of its predecessor. Windows 8.1 is available free of charge for retail copies of Windows 8 and Windows RT users via Windows Store. Unlike service packs on previous versions of Windows, users who obtained 8 outside of retail copies or pre-loaded installations (i.e., volume licensing) must obtain 8.1 through new installation media from their respective subscription or enterprise channel. Microsoft's support lifecycle policy treats Windows 8.1 similar to previous service packs of Windows: It is part of Windows 8's support lifecycle, and installing 8.1 is required to maintain access to support and Windows updates after January 12, 2016. However, unlike previous service packs, Windows 8.1 cannot be acquired via Windows Update and only accepts 8.1-specific product keys.
Released as part of a shift by Microsoft towards regular, yearly major updates for its platforms and services, Windows 8.1 was primarily intended to address the complaints of Windows 8 users and reviewers on launch. Visible enhancements include an improved Start screen, additional snap views, additional bundled apps, tighter OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) integration,Internet Explorer 11, a Bing-powered unified search system, restoration of a visible Start button on the taskbar, and the ability to restore the previous behavior of opening the user's desktop on login instead of the Start screen. Windows 8.1 also added support for such emerging technologies as high resolution displays, 3D printing, Wi-Fi Direct, and Miracast streaming.
Windows 8.1 received relatively positive reception, with critics praising the expanded functionality available to apps in comparison to 8, its SkyDrive integration, along with its user interface tweaks and the addition of expanded tutorials for operating the Windows 8 interface. Despite these improvements, 8.1 was still panned for not addressing all of the digressions of 8 (such as a poor level of integration between Metro-style apps and the desktop interface), and the potential privacy implications of 8.1's expanded use of online services.

Android 4.4 KitKat: 10 New Features

After much teasing, Google has finally released the latest version of Android, version 4.4. Known as KitKat, Android 4.4 brings with it a number of improvements, some of which lie behind the scenes, that are sure to improve an Android user’s experience. Currently, KitKat is only available for the Google Nexus 5, but will soon be available for the Nexus 4, 7 and 10, the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One Google Play Edition as well.



While you wait for your Nexus 5 to arrive, or for your phone to get Android 4.4, here’s a list of some of the more notable changes to look forward to. If you’re an Android user interested in seeing what you’ll be getting on your device soon, or an iOS fan keeping tabs on the competition, read on.

1. Better Memory Management

KitKat is designed to run on devices with as little as 512MB of RAM. Google has implemented behind-the-scenes improvements to Android 4.4′s memory management, and will be providing developers and OEM manufacturers with tools and options to take advantage of these improvements. These memory improvements are expected to lead to smoother multi-tasking as well.
The fact that less than half of all Android phones are running Android 4.x has led to fragmentation issues within Android. It looks like these memory optimizations may lead to greater adoption of Android 4.4, and this should help unify Android to some extent.

2. Improved Google Now

You can now activate Google Now by simply saying "OK Google". It’s only available to Nexus 5 for now though. The contextual cards feature also gets an upgrade. Google Now cards will try to predict information you need based on your location, favorite sites or TV programs.
In addition, Android 4.4 features a new app-linking feature, which allows Google Search to deep-link search results to applications installed on a user’s device. So, for instance, searching for a restaurant via Google Now can direct you to a restaurant reservation app such as OpenTable, ready to make a reservation for that particular restaurant.

3. Hangouts App Upgraded

The old Android messaging app is now a thing of the past with KitKat. Instead, Google Hangouts now supports SMS and MMS, so all your messages will be in the same app. Hangouts will also be getting support for HD video calls across all devices.
Video and voice calling have also been improved, to make Hangouts an all-in-one solution to your communication needs. In addition, animated GIFs and location sharing through Google Maps will be supported.



4. Smarter Caller ID

Android’s default phone app is also getting some welcome changes, including a fresh new design. The dialer now has a search field that you can use to search for a business’s contact info listed in Google Maps. This will pull up contact info for businesses near your area.
This Google Maps data is also used by the phone app’s caller ID to identify any unknown numbers by cross-checking the number with nearby businesses. In addition to this new integration with Google Maps, the new phone app also prioritizes your contacts based on the people you talk to most.

5. Immersive Mode

Let’s face it; Android’s status bar and navigation buttons can sometimes get in the way, especially when you’re playing a game, reading eBooks or watching videos. Fortunately, Android 4.4 comes with a new immersive mode that hides everything except the app you’re using. Once you’re done, just swipe the edge of the screen to bring back your status bar and navigation buttons.

6. Integration With Cloud Storage

Android 4.4 comes support for cloud storage solutions such as Google Drive built into the operating system. This means that you can save and open directly from the cloud, without having to save into your device’s storage first. Apps such as QuickOffice are already able to take advantage of this integration and open documents directly from Google Drive on your Android device.

7. Printing On The Go

Google is making it much easier to print documents or photos on your phone by building support for Google Cloud Print directly into Android 4.4. This will allow you to print documents over WiFi or Bluetooth. Of course, this feature is limited to compatible printers with wireless capabilities, support for Google Cloud Print, as well as any printers that have apps available in the Google Play Store.

8. Built-In Sensors

Android 4.4 adds operating system support for two new composite sensors: step counter and step detector. This support will allow fitness app developers to access pedometer data without writing complex code and algorithms. This, coupled with the hardware sensor batching that reduces power consumed by sensors, means that Android 4.4 devices with compatible hardware, such as the Nexus 5, will be perfect for training and fitness purposes.

9. System-Wide Closed Captioning

Android 4.4 improves user accesibility by adding support for system-wide closed captioningsettings. You can set whether captions should be shown, the language captions will be shown for, and text-related settings such as size and font. Apps that use video will be able to access these settings and show on screen captions based on your settings.

10. Lock Screen Art

The Android 4.4 lock screen can now show more than just widgets. When you’re listening to music or streaming movies via Chromecast, your device’s lock screen will show the fullscreen album or movie art. The lock screen will also have dedicated controls to allow you to play, pause and seek, all from the lock screen.

Conclusion

These are just 10 of the more notable updates in Android 4.4. There are a number of other new features included in KitKat, such as low-power location monitoring, easy home screen switching, built-in infrared blaster support and a redesigned downloads app, just to name a few. All in all, Android 4.4 isn’t what you’d call a spectacular update, but it does bring some much welcome improvements to the table. The improved memory management is particularly interesting, and the rest of the features combine to make Android 4.4 a solid addition to the Android family tree.

Nokia X Review

Nokia is taking itself down a new path in the lower end of the market with the Nokia X, but is it any good?

Back on Feb. 24 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, the press – including us – were gathered around the Nokia booth to listen to what Stephen Elop was about to introduce. What came after that was the Nokia X. (And its siblings, the better-spec'd Nokia X+, and the larger and better Nokia XL.) At long last, a Nokia smartphone powered by Android. Only, not quite.
Sure, it's Android running on the Nokia X. But it's Android in a form unlike any other we've seen before. What Nokia introduced that day was its own take on how an Android smartphone should look and feel. The short version; a Windows Phone-inspired homescreen and absolutely no Google anywhere to be found. And not since the Moto G did a low-end handset create such discussion.
Elop emphasized during the presentation that the Nokia X was for Microsoft's cloud, not Google's. It's all about getting folks into Microsoft's services. So this isn't an Android phone like most that cross our paths, but it's still a potentially important device. So we've tracked one down and spent a little time getting to know it. Head on past the break and take a look.

The Good
Solid build quality, removable battery and some excellent Nokia apps such as HERE Maps and MixRadio. Screen is bright and colorful despite its pretty low resolution.
The Bad
Weighty and a little uninspiring on the design front. Laggy when performing even basic tasks. Nokia Store is woefully lacking in apps and having only a back button leaves a confusing user experience at times.
Conclusion
The Nokia X isn't an awful phone, nor is it an awful experience using it. If you've ever used an Android phone before, then you're going to miss the Google services and you're going to confused as hell with only having a back button. Yeah, it's janky and slow at times, but for the intended audience this might not be the worst buy. And as we've come to know from Nokia phones through the years, it's built like a tank, so it'll probably last the distance.
But Motorola still rules the roost in the cheap Android phone space, and more worryingly for Nokia, the Moto G is sold in most of the same markets that the Nokia X is. Which is a much better experience even if it does cost a little more.
